I'm starting to really get attached to this holiday...
Candy
Decorations
Playing Dress Up
... what's not to love?

My little Devangel?
We began the day with trick or treating on Chestnut St.
(Maggie would say "Tweat pease.")
How can I ever get enough of these two?
We met up with Joel at the school to have our traditional Halloween lunch.
We had only made it to noon and these three were already enjoying a smorgasborg.

This was an exciting Halloween for us... it really was the first time that we've gone out and done the whole trick or treating thing. Every year we've gone down to Chestnut during the day, but we had never done true trick or treating at night. This year we went up to the Sea Cliffs and it was so incredibly fun. We went with a whole crew of friends, and I think Joel and I enjoyed it just as much as Maggie did.

A quick photo-op before hitting the doors.
Making our way up to Robin Williams' house.
The last house we went to belonged to "someone affiliated with the 49ers"... we tried to find out just who that person was, but that's all the info. we could get. There were a couple of 49ers cheerleaders handing out the candy, and right behind them was this incredible view of the Golden Gate bridge. Joel's been trying to master the "night" shot, and with the help of Dave, this is what he came up with. I love it.
Menu: Soup in a Pumpkin (thanks to Mama Joan's tradition)
and orange and root beer pop.
(Joel grew up mixing the two sodas together and calling it swamp water, but not everyone was sold on the idea... I figured with individual bottles, everyone could make up their own mind on what kind of beverage they wanted to ingest.)
The last of the trick or treating... the night after Halloween we had our ward Halloween party. This is when Joel and I joined in the "dressing up" festivities.
Although... most people wanted to know why Joel was the devil and I was the angel, they seemed to think it should have been reversed.
Should I be offended?
That's what I get for marrying the kind of guy I did , no matter how hard I try to look good and sweet, he's always got me beat.

Halloween in SF is where it's at.....I am constantly tortured by your blog....do you realize that? Maggie's costume is so creative....looks like your the genius my dear! One problem though, you and Joel got your costumes mixed up.....haha! Jokes, really there is no devil side in either of you so.....nice try. Or liitle Maggs for that matter!
I have to agree with Sarah about your blog! tortured is the right word for sure :) I love SF halloween but I never got to do the trick or treating on sea cliff. How fun is that. Did they hand out money :)
Love it.

Mags' costume is fantastic...I'm assuming you made it (who knew you'd be so domestic in your married life?). I'm glad you & Joel joined in the dressing up!

Regan, you and your family are way too cute. I love it all!
I'm pretty sure, no 100% sure, that Maggie's costume was the best I've ever seen. EVER! You are too much!
Ok, the whole costume thing was fantastic! I also loved the bridge picture!
Maggie's costume was truly one of the cutest I've EVER seen! Someday when I have a little girl (if ever), I might have to do a little copy-cat action.
Also, I adore the picture of Audrey and Maggie walking down Chestnut. So stinkin' cute!
oh don't you worry, I will be expecting that costume in the mail come next year. Or you can just give it to me when you move here ;) there's a few pretty great practices needing a dentist to step in . . . I'm just sayin:)
