A whole lot of pride when you finally put it to paper.

(I love the thumbs up... that was on her own accord)
At our last parent teacher meeting Mags' preschool teacher told us how well she was excelling.
She was able to recognize both upper and lower case letters, she knew their sounds
and had grasped writing every letter they had worked on thus far.
She did however have one road block...
no matter how much Miss Shawna had worked with her, she refused to write her name.
She wouldn't even write the first letter.
Her teacher had been sitting aside with her every day to work with her on it,
and they hadn't even accomplished the "M".
To Maggie's credit her parents didn't exactly pick an easy name to write out.
(I'm pretty sure Anderson is going to feel the same sentiment)
It was almost like she didn't like it and therefore refused to even try.
We got home that day and began our "learn to write your name" mission.
For about a month and a half now,
we've been encouraging, teaching, and celebrating her name.
I would say "G" was definitely the biggest obstacle...
Yesterday Joel was in the garage working on our headboard while Maggie coloured on her easel.
Next thing I know they both come bursting through the garage door,
and Joel says "you've got to come see this".
Without any provocation from her dad...
Mags decided to finally put all the letters we've been working on to form her name...
I've decided that one of my most favourite things in this whole wide world,
is when a little light bulb comes on in your child's brain.
It warms my center better than a hot cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing.

Miss Shawna is going to be sooooo happy!
